There was only praise from the Mayor of Manukau Len Brown when he officially opened the new Kiwi Supertots Learning Centre at Botany South earlier this month.

Acknowledging it was a day for the kids, Mr Brown said while Manukau’s mayoralty would soon disappear, the community would still be there in 100 years. “And these children are its future,” he said. “Our vision for young people is to set them up for great lives in this city and we trust these parents will help prepare the way for them [the children] to have great lives and great dreams.”

Describing the new centre as a “wonderful, wonderful facility, investing in the future of our young people,” he said it was appropriate to have such a place to take the area forward.
